As the Minister of Niger Delta Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh’s leadership has been pivotal in implementing the Renewed Hope Agenda across the nine states of the Niger Delta. The region’s stability and peace are crucial to the overall well-being of the nation, given its significant economic contributions. Momoh’s commitment to addressing the unique challenges of the Niger Delta has been instrumental in fostering a renewed sense of hope and progress among its citizens.

One of the defining features of Minister Momoh’s tenure is his unwavering commitment to peace and inclusivity. He has actively engaged with all key stakeholders in the region’s crude oil economy, including governors, traditional rulers, multinational companies, restive youths, influencers, students, and other significant participants. His efforts ensure that everyone feels a sense of ownership and belonging in the Niger Delta Project.

These initiatives have yielded remarkable results. The region now enjoys unprecedented peace, leading to increased oil production and a subsequent boost in the nation’s GDP. Minister Momoh has also facilitated interactive sessions between traditional rulers, ex-agitators, and community leaders with President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, all with the aim of promoting inclusivity in governance. These engagements have reinforced the President’s commitment to revitalizing the Niger Delta.

Understanding the critical need to complete abandoned projects throughout the region, Minister Momoh embarked on extensive tours across the nine states to assess such projects under both the ministry and the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

As a result of these efforts, numerous significant projects have been completed and commissioned, including substations in Edo, Ondo, and Bayelsa, as well as bridges, roads, healthcare facilities, schools, and solar-powered initiatives. States such as Imo, Abia, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Delta, and Cross River have also seen substantial benefits from these impactful developmental initiatives.

Empowerment initiatives under Minister Momoh’s leadership are being implemented within the Niger Delta states, unlike previous practices where they were conducted outside the region. These programs are designed to energize and diversify entrepreneurship in the region, promoting self-sustenance and economic growth.

Today, the Niger Delta Ministry has a database of all of its participants in empowerment programmes, so there will be no more manipulation and recycling of empowerment recipients.

Since the beginning of his tenure, Minister Momoh has demonstrated strong leadership by promptly inaugurating the NDDC Board, rejecting political maneuvering. He further solidified his commitment by signing a performance bond with the management of the NDDC Board. This proactive stance has enabled the NDDC to achieve groundbreaking projects throughout the region, ushering in a transformative era of progress and development.

Engr. Abubakar Momoh’s dedication to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda has not gone unnoticed. Various groups have lauded him as one of President Tinubu’s leading ministers, highlighting his significant contributions to the nation’s development.

The Niger Delta region is witnessing a transformative period under the leadership of Minister Abubakar Momoh. His strides in promoting peace, development, and empowerment resonate with the core objectives of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, bringing tangible benefits to the people and setting a benchmark for sustainable progress in Nigeria.
