A call has been made to parents and caregivers to support the government towards providing quality of education to their wards by purchasing core text books like English and Mathematics  for them for successful academic pursuit.

The Special Adviser to the Governor of Ogun State on Primary and Secondary Education, Mrs. Ronke Soyombo who made this call in Abeokuta and Sagamu on day 4 and 5 of the ongoing Basic Education Certificate Examination BECE Monitoring Exercises submitted that good nutrition, moral training and close monitoring must also be provided by parent that wants desired educational upliftment for his children.

Mrs. Soyombo challenged school principals and teachers to up their games and come up with policies that could promote standards of education in their respective schools, adding that they must conduct assessments for learners at the end of each topic for efficient feedback.

“Going by the assessment of this examination, we are very proud to say that standards have really improved in Ogun State and I want to appreciate His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun for the huge investment in the education sector that made it possible to achieve this”, she said.

Expressing satisfaction over the conduct of 2024 BECE, the Principal of Ebenezer Grammar School, Iberekodo, Mrs. Ikimot Ajibola said materials were enough, timely and adequate.

Other schools visited include, Remo Divisional High School, Sagamu and Ilugun High School, Abeokuta.
