The Columbus Museum is set to present an exciting and free exhibition with their upcoming event, Third Thursday, which aims to showcase the work of talented female artists from the South. Newest Exhibition: Third Thursday Since its recent renovations and grand reopening, The Columbus Museum has been hosting a series of events for the public to enjoy, with their latest monthly event set to kick off tonight. Kristen Hudson, the Director of Marketing and Public Relations at The Columbus Museum, expressed her excitement about the upcoming show, stating, "This show highlights the expression of art from women who have lived and grown up in this area, sharing similar stories with the community. Seeing our own stories reflected in the art on the walls is truly remarkable and creates a personal connection with the audience." The event will feature American art from talented female artists, shedding light on the history of the area as well. Dedicated Monthly Event Third Thursday will be a recurring event held every third Thursday of the month, showcasing a different exhibition and offering new activities for the community to engage in. Tonight's theme, 'Our Own Work, Our Own Way', will focus on southern female artists of the 20th century, many of whom hailed from Columbus. Attendees can look forward to musical performances, food trucks, gallery talks, and an art making station. Kristen Hudson emphasized the significance of the museum's collection, stating, "We have an exceptional collection that rivals those of larger institutions across the country. Having this right in our own community is truly a special opportunity." The event is open to the public free of charge from 5 to 8 p.m. For more information, visit comuga.org.
