Everything you need to know about Cambridge's botanic garden music festival
Summer is the best time of year to be in Cambridge, not only because of all the beautiful parks, but also for the festivals and events that fill them. And whilst everyone is familiar with the sight of Parker's Piece bustling with people over The Big Weekend, others may not realise that just down the road is a rather unique music festival.
Cambridge University Botanic Garden is one of the most well-known botanic gardens in the UK and a is a popular attraction in the city. It is home to many rare and interesting plants from around the world with a collection of more than 8,000 plant species.
And throughout July, the Botanic Garden will be filled with the sound of live music as the Sounds Green music festival makes its return.
Visitors are invited to bring a rug and a picnic and have a little boogie late into the evening. Open to everyone who loves music, the festival is one of a kind in the city. Find all the information you will need to know about Sounds Green below including when it is, how to get tickets and who will be performing.
Sounds Green runs every Wednesday evening from July 3 to 31. Each Wednesday, there will be a different performer to see.
Set on the Garden’s Main Lawn, visitors can relax and listen to live music from a variety of different artists. As it is July, here's to hoping the evenings will be warm and dry!
Open to all ages, music will start at 6.15pm and last approximately one hour. The garden will close at 8.30pm for an entire evening of music, dancing and fun.
There will be a variety of performers this year from brass and jazz to blues and even Brazilian music.
