Erudite Professor Jerry Gana said there’s a high possibility for a political wild wind for ethnic nationalities to take over Adamawa State.

Jerry said this during a grand civic reception of Gongola People’s forum and presentation of Honorary awards to its illustrious sons and Daughters and stressed the need of unity among the diverse cultural symbiosis of the region.

Professor Jerry Gana who was the guest speaker was ably represented by Prof Saliva James said the taking over will only be possible if all the ethnic nationalities discard religion and tribal sentiments among themselves.

He charged the mammoth crowd of array class of elites from various tribes in Adamawa State, other states not to allow primordial sentiments of all sort to divide them, but they should give everyone a chance to contribute their quarter.

To achieve this, Prof James called for the formation of elitists force and the Youth, women should be on board to chart a common goal for the interest of the Gongola region which today it has extended to states of Taraba, Benue, Plateau, Bauchi, Gombe and even part of Kaduna and Borno and have all what it takes to takeover including their numeric strength.

James also advised for the establishment of a documentation and research center for proper records of the Gongola people who have a rich cultural heritage.

Very much impressed with the occasion and the turn out of the crowd, James made a passionate appeal to the people to seize the tight, and the time had come for the Gongola Forum to build on good legacy that will out live them till eternity.

“It’s the incubation of something Great. You have a very significant value system and contributed to the development of Gongola region, the north east and the nation at large.

“Gongola is the bed rock of human intelligence. A region with highly educated people in civil service, the area has been the bedrock of development. I called on you to discard the differences that exist in form of weaknesses among you and look at the positive developments as strength and chart for a better course for the nation.” James said

Prof James delved into history and opined that there was a lot of religion upheavals in 1804 that affected the unity of the Gongola ethnic nationalities, but their strength, value and cultural heritage did not reduce.

He sighted examples with Hoba and Sukur Kingdom which were affected by the religious upheavals later British colonialism super imposed their rulership in the two kingdoms with cultures that were foreign and alien to them.

He is hopeful that the region with diverse in terms of history but united in terms of culture and the symbiosis relationship should be encouraged to close the ranks of differences to create a better collective history for their generation yet unborn.
