332 Farmers Killed in Nigeria Amidst Rising Food Inflation

At least 332 farmers have been killed in attacks predominantly in northern Nigeria, carried out by bandits and Boko Haram/Islamic State of West Africa Province terrorists, since the beginning of the year, according to a report by The Punch.

The report disclosed that among the incidents, 13 farmers were killed by improvised explosive devices planted by Boko Haram in Gwoza, Borno State, on January 29, and in February, bandits killed six farmers and kidnapped 20 women in Shiroro, Niger State.

Further attacks saw over 50 farmers killed in Wade, Plateau State, on May 21, and 30 farmers in Zamfara State on May 11. On June 11, more than 50 farmers were killed in Kankara, Katsina State, followed by additional killings in Kaduna and Borno States later in June.
