C-CONNECT adds a slew of new data and airtime bundles

  • C-CONNECT has announced a number of new data/airtime bundles.
  • The recently launched MVNO also has a non-expiry option on selected airtime deals.
  • Topping up prepaid data/airtime will also earn users 10 percent back in Ka-Chings, C-CONNECT’s in-app currency.

In August this year, C-CONNECT launched locally as the country’s latest Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), introducing its value-added data/airtime bundles and an in-app currency called Cha-Chings that could be redeemed to purchase other digital items.

Now C-CONNECT, which is a prepaid brand that uses Cell-C’s robust network infrastructure, has announced a number of new data/airtime bundles that would be of interest to cost savvy South African consumers.

More specifically the MVNO is offering hybrid and SIM-only plans through strategic partners. There is also an intriguing non-expiry option on selected airtime, which is a rarity among network operators these days.

“The hybrid contracts combine prepaid flexibility – users can top up airtime or data as needed – with postpaid features such as a fixed monthly fee which covers essential services like minutes, SMS, or a set amount of data. Customers can control their spending while still enjoying the reliability of a monthly plan,” it highlighted in a release to Hypertext.

The latest bundles from C-CONNECT are:

  • From 10 minutes of voice with no expiry for just R5 to 250 minutes with no expiry for R125;
  • 500 minutes of voice for R199 or 1000 minutes of voice for R229, both with 30-day expiry;
  • From 25MB of data with no expiry for R1.50 to 1GB with no expiry for R60;
  • 5GB for R249, 6GB for R299, or 10GB for R299, all with 30-day expiry;
  • Social media and WhatsApp bundles from 50MB to 1GB for R35 with 30-day expiry.

Along with the above bundles, the company pointed to the value of its Cha-Ching in-app currency. Here if you top up your prepaid airtime or data, you will earn 10 percent back in Cha-Chings.

“Your Cha-Chings can be exchanged for a wide variety of lifestyle products and services, including prepaid electricity/water, extra airtime or data, tickets for events, and gaming vouchers. This reward system helps you get the most from your rand by accessing a range of lifestyle products and services,” the company added.

“We are now excited to offer a selection of great new bundles with even more value for our customers. You can get more out of your spending with our non-expiry bundles. With no rush to use your data and airtime, you can browse when you want, how you want. Our 30-day bundles, meanwhile, fit your budget without compromising on value,” enthused Richard Anderson, C-CONNECT COO.

New subscribers can sign up on the C-CONNECT app or website to get a SIM delivered to their door or at a selected pickup point. You also have the option to collect one from an authorised distribution partner.

The RICA process is completed online without needing to visit a store, and activating your account to receive and spend Cha-Chings simply requires registering on the website, downloading the C-CONNECT app or dialling *105#.
