KOBE (Kyodo) -- Japan striker Mina Tanaka will move to the U.S. National Women's Soccer League's Utah Royals, her WE League club, INAC Kobe Leonessa, said Saturday.

Tanaka has been named to Japan's Paris Olympic team after making appearances at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and last year's Women's World Cup.

"In search of new stimulus and growth, I decided to try playing at an overseas club," the 30-year-old said in a statement released by Kobe. "I'll do my best to raise the profile of the WE League."

Tanaka moved from Nippon TV Beleza to Kobe in 2020 and helped them win the league championship in the 2021-22 season. She also had a brief stint on loan at Germany's Bayer Leverkusen between February and June 2021.
