So far, many of the Bridgerton sibling story lines follow in line with the books, with the exception of a few.

While we certainly enjoy the twists and steamy scenes the producers have added for our sheer pleasure, we can’t help but wonder how the love stories of each Bridgerton sibling unfold in the books. Discover who each Bridgerton sibling marries in the original novels and how these storylines compare to the show.

Anthony Bridgerton

First up, Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), Viscount Edmund and Viscountess Violet Bridgerton’s first-born child and head of the household. In Julia’s second book, The Viscount Who Loved Me, Anthony weds Katharine “Kate” Sheffield, but only after her meddling deters him away from securing a match with her younger sister, according to Julia's website. Her interference not only drives Anthony mad, but also brings him to realize it is her who continues to appear in his dreams at night.

After tying the knot, Anthony and Kate welcome four kids: Edmund, Miles, Charlotte, and Mary.

In the show, Anthony weds Kate Sharma, following a similar story line.

Benedict Bridgerton

Benedict’s love story, featured in Book 3 of Julia’s collection, An Offer from a Gentleman, involves a Miss Sophie Beckett, whom he meets at Lady Bridgerton’s masquerade ball. Sophie’s story is more of a Cinderella story as she is the daughter of an earl but regarded as a servant thanks to her contemptuous stepmother.

After a bit of back and forth, the two go on to marry and have four kids: Charles, Alexander, William, and Violet.

Benedict’s story has yet to make it into the Netflix series, though he could be the star romancer in Season 4. We do learn in Season 3, however, that Benedict begins exploring his sexuality, engaging in a steamy threesome with Lady Tilly Arnold (Hannah New) and Paul Suarez (Lucas Aurelio), putting him in line for potentially snagging another queer lead producers have been hinting at.

Colin Bridgerton

Although Colin’s love story plays out in Season 3 of Bridgerton, it’s featured in the fourth book of Julia’s collection, Romancing Mister Bridgerton. In the novel, Colin and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) marry, but not before he finds out she’s the esteemed Lady Whistledown, publishing gossip pamphlets often featuring his very name in them.

While we see Penelope and Colin welcome a son at the end of Season 3, they wind up having four kids of their own in this order: Agatha, Thomas, Jane, and George.

Daphne Bridgerton

In Daphne’s book (book one of the series), The Duke and I, Daphne Bridgerton and Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings, concoct an elaborate plan to help raise her prospects for finding a husband. Unlike in the show, Daphne is in her second season out and isn’t exactly the “diamond” she’s made out to be in Season 1 of the show. Instead, she's regarded more as a friendly face of the ton.

Though Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon’s (Regé-Jean Page) love story takes a similar path as that in the show, they go on to marry and have five kids: Amelia, Belinda, Carolina, David, and Edward.

Eloise Bridgerton

Eloise’s love story unfolds in the fifth book of Julia's collection titled To Sir Phillip, With Love. Though considered a spinster, Eloise marries one Sir Phillip Crane, (yes, the same one Marina Thompson (Ruby Barker) marries in Season 1) and they go on to have three children: Penelope, Georgiana, and Frederick.

Eloise and Phillip's love story begins after a heartbreaking turn of events. According to Fandom, Marina struggles with what appears to be postpartum depression, and attempts to take her own life by drowning in a lake. Despite Phillip rescuing her just in time, she tragically passes away from lung fever just days later.

It remains uncertain how Eloise's (Claudia Jesse) storyline will unfold on screen, as there have been no new romantic prospects for her (apart from her brief interest in Theo Sharpe, played by Calam Lynch). If producers choose to follow her story line, we could see Ruby make a surprise return only to be killed off later.

Francesca Bridgerton

In book six of the Bridgerton series, When He Was Wicked, Francesca Bridgerton marries John Stirling, the eighth Earl of Kilmartin. Just a few short years into their marriage, John passes away from a brain aneurysm, and she goes on to marry his cousin Michael Stirling, London’s most “infamous rake,” as Julia puts it. They wind up having two kids: John and Janet.

In the series, producers have taken Francesca’s storyline and given it an intriguing twist. After viewers meet Michaela Stirling, John’s cousin, at the end of Season 3, it appears Francesca might not be asexual after all, but potentially gay. While the future of Francesca and Michaela remains uncertain, fans are applauding this development.

Gregory Bridgerton

On the Way to the Wedding, the eight book in the series, is dedicated to Gregory Bridgerton’s love story. In the book, the seventh child of Edmund and Violet marries Lady Lucinda Abernathy. Clearly the busiest of the bunch, Gregory and Lucinda go on to have nine kids: Katharine, Richard, Hermione, Daphne, Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Eloise, and Francesca.

We don’t yet know how Gregory’s love story will pan out on-screen as he’s not old enough to enter society as an eligible member of the ton.

Hyacinth Bridgerton

In the book, It’s In His Kiss, the seventh book of the Bridgerton series, Hyacinth marries Gareth St. Clair, Lady Danbury’s (Adjoa Andoh) grandson. They welcome two kids together, George and Isabella. Feelings between the two begin to develop after he seeks her assistance with helping to translate an old family diary written in Italian, according to Julia’s website.

In the series, Hyacinth isn't quite old enough to make her debut in society, but she's clearly eager to begin attending the glamorous balls and social events.

Seasons 1, 2, and 3 of Bridgerton are now available to stream on Netflix.
