Joshua Patterson has shared the heartbreaking news his baby godson has died.

The Made in Chelsea star announced the tragic news on his Instagram account, alongside an emotional message. He shared a photo of himself holding his godson Archie and said: "With little context thank you for your constant messages of kindness and support over the past three weeks.

"This is a tough thing to write, On the 17th June my Godson Archie tragically passed away in his sleep, he was only 3 months old. Friday was his cremation and memorial to say our final goodbyes. I was asked to read a poem alongside his other godfather, a good friend of mine at his cremation. It was one of the hardest things I have done, and will ever have to do."

He added :"I took some time away to be home and close to his parents, who have been so unbelievable brave during this incredible dark time, and for myself to try and process what has happened. I have grown up with his parents and adore them greatly, it made my love for Archie even stronger, and the meaning behind being his godfather even more special."

"I hope he can see the impact he will have on so many lives around the world. He will be the inspiration behind so much of what I now do. The pain I feel will be converted over time into something powerful, something I hope will help others in a time of struggle. I love you Archie, I hope where ever you are it’s a happy and peaceful place. One day we will be reunited, when that day comes with a big smile on our faces, we can celebrate all the things we’ve shared together in spirit."

Joshua was flooded with messages of support from his followers as one shared: "So tragic Josh, my heart goes out to you and Archie’s parents and family xx." Another added: "So very sad. Sending love and thoughts to all those impacted by the loss." Someone else commented: "This is devastating I’m thinking of you all."

Joshua is known for appearing on E4 show Made in Chelsea, having joined the cast in 2015. He recently took on the grueling challenge of running 76 marathon in 76 days last year to raise funds for charity Samaritans. The TV personality is also a doting father to his daughter India, who celebrated her seventh birthday last month.

Speaking about fatherhood, Josh branded the experience "life-changing". He said: "I think when I found out I was going to be a dad, it changed my life. I was 27 years old and it was so unexpected." At the time, the Ultra-Athlete was still involved with former partner Binky Felstead, whom he met on the MIC set.

"I think there was initially a huge amount of fear and uncertainty and anxiety around the situation because I just wasn't prepared for it. But I look back on it now, and it just was the greatest thing that ever happened to me", he emotionally declared. Binky Felstead gave birth to India in June, 2017 but sadly the couple split a year later.
