7 Best Ranged Weapons In Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree (& How To Get Them)
The Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC for Elden Ring introduced many new weapons, including several ranged tools you can get as you explore. From familiar Crossbows and Greatbows to the new weapon type in the expansion, Throwing Blades, you can try many options. However, the best weapons with range for your character may entirely depend on the type of build you prefer to use.
Over 100 new weapons have been added to Shadow Of The Erdtree in total, which doesn't even cover the new spells introduced in the DLC as well. The ranged weapons you can find are few but are far stronger than many of the ranged options present in the base game. Furthermore, almost all of them can be imbued with Ashes of War in Elden Ring to make them even stronger.
To take on Elden Ring's notoriously challenging DLC, there are many ways to prepare, skills to learn, and items to use that make it more manageable.

While you can't infuse any Ashes of War into this weapon, you can upgrade it with Smithing Stones in Elden Ring up to +25 for extra attack power. This weapon is two crossbows welded into one, firing multiple bolts at the same time across a wide spread as the tool's name suggests. This can help you deal with large crowds of smaller enemies, but the Spread Crossbow may struggle against bulkier opponents.
The Unique Skill of this weapon is the standard Kick attack that sometimes comes standard for many ranged weapons. This simple high kick can break the guard of smaller enemies trying to block with shields.

As you can see in the above video by YouTube creator Gamer Guru, you'll be able to find the Bone Bow inside Belurat Tower Settlement to the northwest of the Land of Shadow. From the Small Private Altar Site of Grace, travel up the structure and enter the tower with the broken spiral stairs guarded by two large Spider-Scorpion enemies. The Bow is on the large pile of books right past where one enemy drops from the ceiling.

The new Throwing Blades weapon type in Shadow Of The Erdtree is only represented through one weapon, the
The Smithscript Dagger is a weapon that can be made better with Ashes of War you collect from various Remembrances and other sources from along your journey to become Elden Lord.
Getting to this weapon is no easy task, as you have to pass one of the Furnace Golems in Elden Ring lingering around the Ruined Forge Lava Intake area. Head down deep into this dungeon and explore until you come across an item on a ledge guarded by a large stone enemy. Unlike normal throwing daggers, this Throwing Blade does not consume any ammo but respawns in your hand as you throw it at enemies.
The Piercing Throw ability is unique to Throwing Blades like this dagger, letting you throw the weapon further than normal from a powerful spin. This attack can pierce through multiple opponents, allowing you to deal damage to many targets in a single throw. Although this weapon may be tricky to use at first, its speed and range make it a great addition to Elden Ring among the available tools in your character's arsenal.

Anyone who has fought the Blackgaol Knight in Shadow Of The Erdtree may recognize the
As you can see in the above video by YouTube creator Its Shatter, the Repeating Crossbow's main strength comes from the machine gun fire mode it can do from its Unique Skill. Performing this does not cost any FP, but consumes a lot of ammo to deliver a volley of projectiles against your target quickly. This can be great for dealing damage to a single enemy or boss, tearing through their health bar in one sequence.

The named weapons in Elden Ring are usually special in some way, with
A character in Elden Ring’s DLC bears a piece of us all. Here’s how his journey inspired my own, and how he unofficially became part of the community.
The Unique Skill for this weapon is the Fan Shot, which sees you hold the bow horizontally to fire eight arrows at once. This is extremely strong against groups of all types of enemies as you find yourself overwhelmed by foes while you explore the Land of Shadow. The base damage of Ansbach's Longbow is decent enough to pick off targets from afar, but having a close-range option through makes up for the main weakness of normal bows.

Those looking for a ranged weapon to deal the most damage should look no further than
As you can see in the above video by YouTube creator Shark R , you can get Rabbath's Cannon at Rabbath's Rise after you break the seal preventing you from traveling up the Spirit Spring in the area.
Upgrading this weapon with Somber Smithing Stones makes up for the lack of Ashes of War you can't infuse into the tool. The Cannon can annihilate groups of enemies for crowd control or deal incredible DPS to bosses when you find your window to fire off a shot. While tricky to use in frantic battles, this ranged weapon remains among the best in Shadow Of The Erdtree from its sheer damage output alone.

You can find Igon's Greatbow after his questline where you first met him at the Foot of the Jagged Peak Site of Grace, just southeast of the resting area.
The Unique Skill is simply a stronger version of Through And Through, but you can upgrade this Greatbow alongside this ability through Ashes of War. Using Igon's Harpoons as ammo with all of these traits combined puts this ranged weapon leagues above the others available in Shadow Of The Erdtree. Those with Strength-centered character builds will thrive using this weapon over long distances.
Igon's Harpoon and Igon's Greatbow are obtained from an extremely challenging boss, Igon, in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.
Since you can fully upgrade this item to +25, you will only increase the potency of the Greatbow with the Drake Hunt skill and whatever Ash of War you imbue. Using the best ranged weapons like Igon's Greatbow can give you better options instead of always fighting Shadow Of The Erdtree's powerful enemies up close in Elden Ring.
