Napoli And Chelsea In New Talks Over Osimhen Transfer Move

Napoli has informed Chelsea that they are prepared to reduce the asking price for Victor Osimhen.

The Serie A squad has consented to let Osimhen depart this summer but Aurelio de Laurentiis, the club president, is waiting for a team to exercise the Nigerian international’s €130 million (£110.8 million) option.

Chelsea, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain had previously expressed interest but none of them had said they would be willing to match Napoli’s asking, reports Metro

The Italian team is now in a difficult situation because they are depending on Osimhen’s transfer price to partially cover their summer spending, which includes signing Romelu Lukaku.

Antonio Conte has already been given guarantees that some of his other important players at Napoli, such as Frank Anguissa, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Stanislav Lobotka, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who made an impression for Georgia at Euro 2024 won’t be traded.

Chelsea and Napoli have begun negotiations regarding a transfer for Lukaku, although the Premier League squad is not amenable to another loan and had first demanded that a team fulfill the Belgium international’s £38 million release clause.

Lukaku wants to rejoin Conte at Napoli and Chelsea is now willing to take a cheaper price for the 31-year-old.

Napoli indicated during their conversations that they would consider lowering their assessment of Osimhen to €100 million (£84.6 million).

Chelsea, who last month agreed to pay Aston Villa £42 million for their Colombian striker Jhon Duran, still believes the amount is too much.

Osimhen, on the other hand, turned down a transfer to the Middle East last year and would rather stay in Europe. He still has the chance to join the Saudi Pro League.
