FRSC Adopts Mobile Speed Patrol In South-Eastern States

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has introduced a Mobile Speed Patrol system to enhance the prompt response to road traffic crashes and other emergencies in Abia, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States.

Following the recent removal of static patrol points, the Assistant Corps Marshall, Winfred Uche Chukwurah, the Zonal Commanding Officer of the FRSC (RS9HQ) in Enugu, announced the new approach during her inaugural visit to the Abia State Federal Road Safety Command in Umuahia.

Chukwurah emphasized that patrol operatives will now engage in mobile patrols instead of the previously utilized static checkpoints.

Chukwurah explained that the shift to mobile patrol operations is aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the FRSC in managing road safety. She also highlighted the importance of adapting to new challenges and encouraged officers to develop a positive attitude to significantly contribute to the Corps’ success.

During her working visit to the states under her command, including Abia, Enugu, Ebonyi, and Imo, Chukwurah praised the dedication and resilience of the personnel in their duties. She also commended the strong cooperation among various security agencies, state governments, and the media.

Chukwurah noted the necessity of continued public education on traffic offenses and their consequences. She urged the personnel to maintain their efforts in enlightening motorists and other road users about the importance of road safety as a collective responsibility.

In his address, the Sector Commander of FRSC in Abia State, Corps Commander Frederick Ade Ogidan, called for support from the Abia State government, individuals, and groups to help achieve the purpose for which the Corps was established.
