Firefighters make significant overnight progress on San Benito County fire

CAL FIRE said the fire that started in San Benito County on Tuesday is currently 1,150 acres with 55% containment.The Airline Fire was reported at around 1:50 p.m. and is burning at Panoche Road and Arline Highway near Pacines.Currently, five structures are threatened but none have been destroyed, per Cal Fire. The fire was burning very actively in vineyards in the area.There are 17 engines, four bulldozers, four water tenders, four helicopters, 200 firefighters, inmate crews and the National Guard battling the fire. Santa Clara, Monterey and San Benito counties have all sent crews. CAL FIRE said a firefighter was taken to the hospital and later released after suffering heat exhaustion.
