Only recently, ITV and BBC have been hit with major schedule changes due to the Live UEFA Euros 2024 football coverage, which has been dominating the television prime time slots. And in a further blow for viewers, with Wimbledon kicking off on Monday 1 July, it means even more BBC programmes will be axed from their regular time slots this week.

For the next few days, Wimbledon coverage will be taking over BBC One and BBC Two, which means favourites such as Rip Off Britain, The One Show, Escape To The Country and Animal Park will be impacted. Elsewhere, EastEnders will be taken off air until Wednesday in a further blow for television lovers.

Rip Off Britain, hosted by Strictly star Angela Rippon, Gloria Hunniford and Julia Somerville, typically airs at 2pm on BBC One, but will be axed for Wimbledon coverage. Elsewhere, Animal Park, which typically airs at 2.30pm and is hosted by Ben Fogle and Kate Humble, will also be replaced by the tennis coverage. Escape To The Country, which usually airs at 3pm, will also be off-air for Wimbledon and hit chat show, The One Show, which airs every week night at 7pm has also been taken off air for the tennis.

It's a busy week for television because as well as Live UEFA Euros 2024 football coverage and Wimbledon, BBC One will be airing live coverage of the 2024 election from 9:55pm on Thursday evening too. It's not just BBC impacted as ITV has had a huge schedule change for many of its beloved soaps.

On Monday 1 July, there will be no EastEnders airing due to the football coverage and Wimbledon. Meanwhile, the ITV soaps will air but at a much later time. Emmerdale will air at 8pm while Coronation Street will air at 9pm. On Tuesday 2 July, there will be no EastEnders again for soap fans. Over on ITV, Emmerdale will also be cancelled from its usual slot and not air.

Wednesday 3 July will offer more positive news for soap fans with a double bill of EastEnders airing 7pm to 8pm on BBC Two. One of these episodes is already available to watch on BBC iPlayer too. Elsewhere, over on ITV, Emmerdale and Coronation Street will air at their usual times of 7:30pm and 8pm.

On Thursday 4 July, EastEnders fans are in for another double bill airing 7pm to 8pm on BBC Two. Over on ITV, Emmerdale will be airing its usual hour-long Thursday instalment 7:30pm to 8:30pm. It's sad news on Friday 5 July as both Emmerdale and Coronation Street will not be airing as the football again dominates schedules.
