Former Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United midfielder Phathutshedzo Nange has found a new home at Marumo Gallants, FARPost has learnt.

He has joined Gallants on a three-year deal which will see him at the club until 2027.

After one season with SuperSport United, Nange parted ways with the club a few days ago. He cited limited game time as contributing to his departure from the Limpopo side.

The 32-year-old featured in 17 matches for Matsatsantsa in the past season under coach Gavin Hunt.

This publication has now gathered that Nange is set to reunite with his former coach, Dylan Kerr.

Kerr and Nange worked together at Black Leopards during the 2018/19 season. This was before the midfielder moved to Stellenbosch FC before his much-publicised move to Chiefs in 2021.

Kerr recently returned to Marumo Gallants after they bought the DStv Premiership status of Moroka Swallows. This publication has gathered that Nange is likely to be one of the players unveiled when they commence with the official pre-season training on Monday next week.

Meanwhile, Kerr, who arrived in the country on Tuesday, began work on Wednesday. He took players, mostly trialists, through their paces in Johannesburg. More than 50 players, including players from Moroka Swallows, reported for assessment.

Gallants are yet to confirm the whole technical team that will be working alongside side Kerr ahead of the new season.

Gallants have recently issued a trial invite for aspiring footballers. The trials are for their Under-11/13/15/17 and 19 teams. They are set to be held in Polokwane.

“No full-time clubhouse players yet. We only take travelling players from around Polokwane,” the club announced on their social media space.
