Arsenal were handed a significant boost on Wednesday night after Liverpool suffered a near-fatal defeat to fierce rivals Everton at Goodison Park. For the second time in three weeks, the Gunners' title rivals failed to keep pace with Mikel Arteta's side after their home disappointment against Crystal Palace.

The North London club have bounced back from their slip-up at home to Aston Villa with success in their last two outings - including the emphatic win over city rivals Chelsea. Mauricio Pochettino's side suffered their heaviest defeat of the season as they were hit for five.

This Sunday, Tottenham Hotspur host Arsenal in the North London derby in a battle that could have a serious impact on the title race, and also the battle for European football. Neither side could be separated in the reverse fixture as Son Heung-min's double helped Ange Postecoglu's side earn a point at the Emirates Stadium.

It will be Arsenal's fifth game in two weeks with Arteta looking for his side to recover quickly ahead of the final matches of the campaign. The fitness of the squad is a huge boost currently though with no fresh problems for Arteta to worry about.

Here, football.london has the latest from the Arsenal treatment room.

Gabriel Magalhaes

In the latter stages of Tuesday's emphatic win over Chelsea, Gabriel signalled that he needed some treatment before going down clutching his ankle. He completed the match despite it appearing that Jakub Kiwior was set to replace him.

Injury: Ankle.

What Arteta has said: N/A.

Potential return date: Tottenham (A) - Sunday, April 28.

Jurrien Timber

The 22-year-old made a goalscoring return after just eight minutes following his serious knee injury. The Dutchman started his first game for eight months in a 2-2 draw for the Under-21 side away to Blackburn Rovers in the Premier League 2 on Monday night.

Timber has been sidelined since August after picking up an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury on the opening day of the season against Nottingham Forest.

Injury: Knee.

What Arteta has said: "That's a quick step! [playing against Tottenham next weekend] Let's see how he feels today [Monday]. He has been training really good, he looks ready.

"He needs that exposure and after that we will assess whether that game comes at the right time or too fast. We will try to get him with us for the final games."

Potential return date: May 2024.

Takehiro Tomiyasu

After starting against Bayern Munich in the week, Tomiyasu was left out of the squad to face Wolves. Upon announcing the starting XI, Arsenal wrote: "Takehiro Tomiyasu has been left out as a precaution after picking up a knock on Wednesday." The Japan international returned to the starting XI against Chelsea and played 72 minutes in a 5-0 win.

Injury: Knock.

What Arteta has said: "He [Tomiyasu] had a knock in the game and he had a bit of swelling and he wasn’t fit to play this game."

Potential return date: Returned.
