A Harr-dy effort leads to Dollard win
Dollard’s solid defending held the visiting Haut Richelieu Celtix’s attack at bay in their 4-2 win in LDP play.

The Dollard U16 boys’ doubled up on the Haut Richelieu Celtix for a 4-2 win Saturday afternoon on their home Dollard synthetic Pitch in League de Développement Provinciale (LDP) play. Sartaj Harr paced the Dollard attack as he potted a pair of goals in the win. Dollard keeper Dylan Qu was made several sharp saves and was only bested on precision shots off the boots of two Celtix players.

From the opening touch the two opponents muddled mostly in the middle of the pitch as they looked for openings into the attacking third. The opening goal came 22 minutes into the opening half by Dollard’s Samuel Phaneuf. After gathering in a pass, Phaneuf sidestepped a Celtix defender and then did the same to a prone Thomas Bellerive, the Celtix keeper, that allowed the Dollard striker to drive the ball into the net for a 1-0 advantage.

The home side carried that lead into the break but quickly added to it as Harr recorded his first of two five minutes into the second half. On a corner from the left, William Serero delivered the ball into mid-box with the ball squirting to the left where Harr guided the ball into the goal for a 2-0 lead. Dollard upped the lead to 3-0 in the 59th minute of play when Arames Baig stroked the ball past an outstretched Bellerive for his tally.

Haut Richelieu spoiled Qu’s clean sheet in the 64th minute when Justin Popov delivered a 39-yard strike high into the left corner of the net with the shutout buster. Dollard replied to that volley when Harr broke left inside the box and sent the ball right with it kissing off the post and in for a 4-1 advantage. The visitors closed out the scoring in the game on a cannonading shot that found the top right corner.
