Ogun Customs generates over N12bn in 6 months, captures 12 new factories under excise duty

The Nigeria Customs Service, Ogun II area command has confirmed that it generated more than N12.8 billion between January and June 2024.

This, according to the command represents a significant increase of 51% in revenue compared to the corresponding period in 2023.

The Area Controller, Olusola Alade made this known while speaking about the achievements of the command in the last six months.

He said the achievements was made possible through the quality leadership provided by the Comptroller General of Customs and the efforts of his men using quality intelligence gathering, with the support of residents.

The Comptroller added that the Command under his watch has also brought no fewer than 15 factories that were not captured before under the excise control.

He explained how the command has been working with factories on how they can register, make their goods meet the required standard and to make their businesses improved, adding that the government is also interested in the development of the locally made goods.
