Katsina PDP spokesman debunks allegation against party’s 2023 guber candidate

Blueprint 2024/5/19

The spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caretaker committee in Katsina state, Alhaji Lawal Audi ‘Yar’adua, has dismissed allegations made against the party’s gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 general elections, Senator Yakubu Lado Danmarke.

The allegation made by an aggrieved faction of the party, according to ‘Yar’adua, was baseless and misleading.

He further described the aggrieved faction as a gang of anti-party merchants that have no electoral value.

The aggrieved faction had at a press conference over the weekend in Katsina frowned at the guber candidate’s failure to challenge the conduct and the outcome of the election in court.

The faction similarly made a veil mention of how some candidates turned their contest as a business venture.

However, the PDP spokesman alleged that the candidate refused to go to court to challenge the election because according to him, “those that will serve as his witness in court have already committed ant-party activities”.

He said instead of crying wolf where there was none, the faction “should join their master, the former governor of the state Alhaji Ibrahim Shehu Shema and defect to APC”.

He further alleged that none of the the members of the aggrieved faction won the election in his constituency.

Yaradua also described the aggrieved parties as APC’s moles planted in the PDP to destabilise the party and scuttle its chances in the forthcoming local government elections in the state.
