Motorola Edge 50 Ultra

Pros

  • Has a very attractive, modern design
  • The display is amazing
  • Extremely fast wired and wireless charging

Cons

  • Not officially available in the US, so getting it is more expensive

Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 | Display: 6.7-inch AMOLED, 144Hz, HDR10+, 2500-nit peak brightness, 1220 x 2712 | RAM: 12GB, 16GB | Storage Options: 512GB, 1TB | Rear Camera: 50MP wide with OIS, 64MP 3x periscope telephoto with OIS, 50MP ultrawide, 4K/60 support | Front Camera: 50MP, 4K/60 support | Battery: 4,500mAh, 125W wired charging, 50W wireless charging

The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is my absolute favorite device that you can currently get when wireless charging is a major focus, and that’s because it brings a complete package of a device around wireless charging that’s a lot faster than what you can get on many other flagship devices.

Plus, the Edge 50 Ultra has what could arguably be the best design on any smartphone that you can get right now. Again, I said arguably, because I recognize you may disagree heavily. But I think not only does it look different, but it looks great. Plus, the rest of the spec sheet (especially that display) is solid, and with 50W wireless charging (faster than Samsung has for wired charging), this is a winner.

Honor Magic 6 Pro

Pros

  • Fantastic battery life
  • The cameras are amazing
  • Has the fastest wireless charging on the list, at 66W

Cons

  • It is on the higher end of the flagship price spectrum

Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 | Display: 6.8-inch LTPO OLED, 120Hz, Dolby Vision, 5000-nit peak brightness, 1280 x 2800 | RAM: 12GB, 16GB | Storage Options: 256GB, 512GB, 1TB | Rear Camera: 50MP wide with OIS, 180MP 2.5x periscope telephoto with OIS, 50MP ultrawide, 4K/60 support | Front Camera: 50MP, 4K/30 support | Battery: 5,600mAh, 80W wired charging, 66W wireless charging

It was tough finding where to place the Honor Magic 6 Pro on this list because it is arguably one of the most well-rounded flagships on the market right now. It is expensive, admittedly, but it is a high-quality smartphone. In fact, I felt myself swayed from my Samsung camp by its magnetic pull. The spec sheet is stacked, and quite notably, the device has 66W wireless charging, which is ridiculously fast.

On top of that, you get an amazing display, a fantastic camera trio (that telephoto is a heavy hitter), and a proper flagship processor at the reins. Plus, the battery life is pretty admirable. There’s very little that this device doesn’t do right, if anything at all. Well, it’s very expensive, so maybe that.

OnePlus 12

Pros

  • Pretty great battery life
  • Pricing is a lot better than most other flagships
  • Fast wired and wireless charging

Cons

  • The choice of IP65 might be the only major weak point

Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 | Display: 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED, 120Hz, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, 4500-nit peak brightness, 1440 x 3168 | RAM: 12GB, 16GB, 24GB | Storage Options: 256GB, 512GB, 1TB | Rear Camera: 50MP wide with OIS, 64MP 3x periscope telephoto with OIS, 48MP ultrawide, 8K/24 support | Front Camera: 32MP, 4K/30 support | Battery: 5,400mAh, 80W wired charging, 50W wireless charging

The OnePlus 12 is a sign of the company’s growth. While the extremely aggressive flagship killer pricing of the pioneering devices is gone, it comes at the cost of a perfectly rounded smartphone that manages to do well in all categories, perhaps with the exception of water resistance; just IP65.

However, the rest of the device hits the marks in all aspects. You get a good price, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, and great cameras to go with it. Along with that, there’s a big battery that lasts long and for those times that it runs out, you’ve got 80W wired charging (100W for the international model) and super-fast 50W wireless charging.

Motorola Moto G Power (2024)

Pros

  • Very affordable device
  • Comes with a 3.5mm jack and a microSD slot
  • Sizable battery

Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 7020 | Display: 6.7-inch IPS LCD, 120Hz, 1080 x 2400 | RAM: 8GB | Storage Options: 128GB | Rear Camera: 50MP wide with OIS, 8MP ultrawide, FHD/30 support | Front Camera: 16MP, FHD/30 support | Battery: 5,000mAh, 30W wired charging, 15W wireless charging

The Motorola G Power (2024) is one of the rare phones in the budget range that manages to fit wireless charging into the mix. That usually doesn’t happen, but it has in this case. 15W isn’t bad (considering it matches what Samsung does on $1,000+ devices),

The rest of the package is respectable, as usual omissions like a headphone jack and microSD slot stick around. You get a nice battery size, a respectable design, and a sensible price. Don’t expect too much performance, as you simply won’t find it here.

Samsung Galaxy S24+

Pros

  • Class-leading camera setup
  • Has that Samsung-quality display
  • Plenty of bang for the buck at its price

Cons

  • Wired and wireless charging aren’t quite the best for 2024

Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 | Display: 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED, 120Hz, HDR10+, 2600-nit peak brightness, 1440 x 3120 | RAM: 12GB | Storage Options: 256GB, 512GB | Rear Camera: 50MP wide with OIS, 10MP 3x periscope telephoto with OIS, 12MP ultrawide, 8K/30 support | Front Camera: 12MP, 4K/60 support | Battery: 4,900mAh, 45W wired charging, 15W wireless charging

If you want a phone with wireless charging support but you really don’t care how fast it is, then the Samsung Galaxy S24+ is one of the very best choices you can make. The device provides excellent value for money, but it is let down mainly by dated charging speeds on both the wired and wireless fronts.

However, if you can get past that, the device that remains is quite frankly excellent. It has the Samsung flagship-grade camera quality that you expect, along with flagship performance in literally every other category. Plus, the display is gorgeous, but it’s Samsung, so you couldn’t have expected any different.
