YOUNGSTOWN — Mahoning County Common Pleas Court Judge Maureen Sweeney will try again to try Robert L. Moore, 54, of Alliance, in connection to the 2009 disappearance and presumed murder of Glenna J. White, 16 of Alliance.

Glenna disappeared after leaving a home June 2, 2009 in Smith Township.

The judge entered the courtroom about 9:40 a.m. today with 72 prospective jurors that nearly filled the large courtroom. Three assistant prosecutors and the defense will question the potential jurors soon to find a final panel of 12 jurors and four alternates.

It is another large jury pool, as it has been the last couple of times that the parties have met to try the case. In one earlier instance, the jury pool ran out before a sufficient number of jurors had been selected.

It is the seventh time for the case has been called for trial. There have been a variety of reasons it has not reached a conclusion.

The first jury in June 2022 found Moore not guilty of aggravated murder, but could not decide whether Moore was guilty of murder, so prosecutors decided to try him again.

It was postponed once because of a COVID-19 case among the attorneys, and it was postponed another time because of death in the family of one of the attorneys. There also was an incident involving a potential juror that derailed the proceedings, and a delay caused by an issue with a key witness.
