Teenager remanded for stealing clothes in Ibadan

A Grade ‘A’ Customary Court, Ibadan, on Wednesday remanded a teenager, Mayowa Amoo, in a correctional facility in Ibadan, after pleading guilty to stealing clothes worth millions.

Amoo, 18, whose address was not provided, was charged with conspiracy and stealing, to which he pleaded guilty.

The Court President, Mrs Sukurat Yusuf remanded Amoo in Agodi correctional facility in Ibadan, pending presentation of facts and judgment.

She, therefore, adjourned the case until July 19 for review of facts and judgment.

The prosecutor, Mr Philip Amusan told the court that the defendant and others at large committed the offences on April 3, at Ogunpa Market, Ibadan.

Amusan said the defendant who was working at the market stole a bag containing different types of clothes worth over N3.3 million, belonging to one Mr Colombia Umegboro.

He said the offences contravene Sections 516 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo, 2000.
