Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Enugu State chapter has congratulated Enugu Rangers International Football Club for lifting the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League.

The Association which made the commendation in an 8-point communique after their June congress, called on the management to rejig the team ahead of the forthcoming CAF championship league.

They also commended the Enugu state government under the watch of Governor Peter Mbah for providing Rangers the needed financial support in executing the just ended league season which yielded positive result.

Congress urged the  Enugu State Government to engage in sports diversification, noting that emphasis on other sports outside football will benefit the  state a great deal during competitions such as National Sports festival NSF.

In the same vein, the Congress  called on the Enugu State Ministry of Youth and sports to endeavour to revive  school sports which has gone  morribnd in the state, adding that  promotion of school sports would go a long way in fishing out hidden talents at the grass roots that will replace aging sports men and women in the state.
