The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a partnership with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to provide customised phone SIMs to Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates.

This is aimed at addressing the challenges of stolen or missing Subscriber Identity Modules (SIMs) during the registration process.

The development was disclosed by JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, during a recent visit from the West Africa Civil Societies Forum (WACSOF) delegation.

According to JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, the customised SIMs will be exclusively used for UTME registration and will be accessible only to parents, with an expiry date of five years.

Prof. Oloyede assured that the innovation would make the UTME registration process seamless, flexible, and user-friendly. He reiterated JAMB’s commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance service delivery to Nigerians.
