Cosafa Cup: Comoros Stun Kenya To Record First Win

africatopsports.com 2 days ago

The Comoros secured their first win in the Cosafa Cup with a 2-0 victory over East African visitor team Kenya, who had previously defeated Zambia.

Kenya were rocked by a red card for Paul Ochuoga when he received a second yellow after 33 minutes, which resulted in a Comoros penalty.

Affane Djambae made no mistakes from the start for the islanders.

Djambae extended his team’s lead early in the second half with a nice strike from the edge of the box, making it 2-0 and securing the points against Kenya’s ten men.

Zimbabwe leads Group B with six points, followed by the Comoros and Kenya with three apiece, however neither team has advanced to the semifinals yet.

Kenya’s final game against Zimbabwe is on Tuesday, and the Comoros face Zambia, therefore three teams might finish with six points in the pool.

Only Zambia is out of the tournament..
