Customs Officer murdered for killing passenger

An officer of the Nigeria Customs Service, has reportedly lynched to death by passengers in a reprisal attack in Kaita Local Government Area of Katsina

The incident happened on Wednesday morning along Katsina-Dankama Road at Gamjin Makaho village.

This is according to Daily Trust citing an unnamed source.

It said, a truck was conveying people to Dankama town when the customs officers tried to stop it, but the driver refused to stop.

It added that, in reaction to the offending driver, one of the armed customs officers pulled the trigger, with the bullet said to have hit a passenger, identified as Bashir Na-Buzuwa, in the waist.

This which resulted in the demise of the 27-year-old ired other passengers, and in turn lynched the trigger-happy officer to death, the publication wrote.

Quoting the report verbatim: “The truck driver eventually stopped, and the passengers disembarked to confront the customs officers, pouncing on the shooter.

“It was gathered that the passengers eventually killed the customs officer, whose name and rank could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report.”
