MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - We’re waking up to our fourth rain system of the month so far (only 3 days of July have been completely dry!). This small weather-maker will keep rain chance in the forecast through the early morning, but shouldn’t impact your afternoon plans.

The next few days will all feature rain chances, most of which look rather small. Rain amounts from Sunday through Wednesday look to be around a half-inch to an inch for most of southern Wisconsin.

What’s Coming Up...

A batch of showers moves through this morning, possibly with a few isolated thunderstorms. Once the morning rain moves out, clouds should gradually begin to clear through the afternoon. The rest of the daytime hours should be dry, aside from a stray storm that could pop up. High temperatures will be in the upper 70s and lower 80s.

A second round of showers and storms will move in after 9 PM and continue through the early morning hours. The rain and clouds will keep overnight temperatures mild: only cooling to the middle 60s by Monday morning.

If you’re up early on Monday, you may catch some showers before they finally exit to the east. The morning commute looks like it should be dry. Some sun may peek through the clouds in the afternoon, but we’ll also watch for a few small pop-up showers and storms to redevelop around 3-5 PM.

Looking Ahead...

Tuesday looks to start dry until a system to our south just barely clips us as it passes by. Rain will be the most likely for our southern counties on Tuesday. A few additional showers are possible on Wednesday as well.

Humidity levels will be consistent over the next few days, remaining in the middle 60s. Temperatures get warmer as we get later into the workweek. Highs will begin to climb into the middle 80s as the next weekend approaches.
