Kaduna House of Rep Member visits Ribang, condoles families of drown students, advocates for urgent help

The Member of the House of Representatives representing Kauru Federal Constituency of Kaduna State, Hon. Mukhtar Zakari has visited and condole with families and Ribang community in Kauru Local Government Area of the state where six secondary school students drowned while returning from writing the just concluded Basic Education Certificate Examination.

Last Tuesday, six students of Government Secondary School, Fadan Chawai from Ribang community drowned in the Mbang River they had earlier crossed with their colleagues.

The Member who visited the area over the weekend, lamented the poor state of the road that leads to the community and lack of a bridge, appealed to the Governments at all level to consider the plight of the people by constructing a bridge for the community.

He expressed his resolve to continue to collaborate with the state and Federal Governments to bring social amenities to the people, especially communities that are in dare need of assistance.

He said Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna state promised to send his Special Adviser on Rural Infrastructure to survey the area and their needs.

The member prayed God to comfort the immediate family, Chawai Chiefdom and the entire people of Kauru Local Government Area, and hoped that their dead will be like a sacrificial that will open doors for the entire community.

The State House of Assembly representing Kauru Constituency, Hon. Barnabas Danmaigona, the Council Chairman Kauru Local governments Bashir Dawaki and the Chief of Chawai Chiefdom are among the entourage.

Earlier, the President Chawai Development Association, Comrade Abel Adamu and the Village Head of Ribang, Mr. Garba Madaki, thanked the rep member and his entourage for the visit.

While lamenting that the community lacks social amenities likes access road and health care, they appealed to government to come to their aid as they are finding it difficult to transport their farm produce to the markets as well as other activities.
