England are preparing to face Switzerland this evening and Gareth Southgate’s team selection is once again under the spotlight.

Southgate simply has to get it right and there are calls for certain players to get the nod after a dismal showing v Slovakia last weekend.

One of the main players to be shouted for is Trent Alexander-Arnold. The Liverpool star began the tournament in midfield but has since dropped back to the bench.

Alexander-Arnold is one of a number of players in the squad who will feel they deserve a chance.

But away from the first-team selection, Alexander-Arnold has also been showing himself to be quite the team player and he seems to be integrating well among the England squad in general.

Indeed, Trent has even been showering some of his teammates with praise, and that includes Arsenal goalkeeper and fellow England sub, Aaron Ramsdale.

Trent Alexander-Arnold full of praise for Aaron Ramsdale

Speaking about Ramsdale and assessing a pass in training from the Arsenal goalkeeper, Alexander-Arnold had some high words of praise for the Gunners stopper.

“He’s really good with his feet. As you can see under pressure, he’s really good, even the pass to Ez.

“I’m looking at the technique more and more on the pass. He doesn’t take a touch afterwards. The shape of his body, it’s like that cat meme with a cat taking a free-kick.

“Rammers is my boy I back him to the death. Incredible goalkeeper and incredible guy.”

Ramsdale is very much known for being the ultimate professional and keeping positive around both Arsenal and England camps.

The former Sheffield United man lost his place at Arsenal to David Raya but has remained a staunch supporter of the Spaniard.

Likewise with England, Ramsdale remains a popular squad member and is clearly ready if he’s called upon.

This praise from Trent, then, simply shows the respect in the camp, even between two rival Premier League teams.
