Eureka Police arrest man for alleged assault at Six Flags

Eureka Police arrested a 32-year-old St. Louis man who allegedly injured a woman while running away from Six Flags employees who believed he stole something from one of the shops at the amusement park, 4900 Six Flags Road. Officers discovered the man was wanted on at least six active warrants, police reported.

Eureka Police were called at about 7:45 p.m. June 16 after the man allegedly collided into a 31-year-old Sikeston woman. The man got up and ran after the collision, but employees stopped him before he left the park, the report said.

The woman was transported to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur for treatment. Capt. Michael Werges said Eureka Police did not have a report about her injuries as of June 28.

Officer arrested the man, and they discovered he was wanted by U.S. Marshals for a federal probation violation, according to the report.

The man was taken to SSM St. Clare Hospital in Fenton because he said he injured his neck. He was examined and deemed fit for confinement, the report said.

Officers took the man to St. Louis County Jail to be held for the U.S. Marshals, according to the report.

Werges said Eureka Police will seek a charge against the man through the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for fourth-degree assault.
