Leo Adegoke Olufolake, the District President of Leo 404B2 Nigeria for the 2023/2024 service year has said that the projects and programmes executed at the clubs, district, and multiple district levels exemplified the dedication of members to foster a better and more sustainable society.

Adegoke, who has over 50 clubs under the District, stated this during an award ceremony and the launch of the District magazine to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the District and the end of her service year in Ikeja. She said that her team will be appreciating everyone that has supported them throughout the service year.

She said the year’s theme; ‘Continuity in Service’ with the response ‘Let’s do more for more’ has given the members of the District the urge to amplify the visibility of their projects and showcase the impactful work of the District by doing more for more in the communities, states and nation at large.

She said that earlier in the day, a legacy project was commissioned at Akinpelumi Street Ketu Ikosi, where a borehole was donated for the community because they have no access to water.

“We saw the need there, and we took the lead by providing them with a good water supply.”

Adegoke pointed out that during the service year, a lot of projects were carried out which included leadership training for members, donations to schools, celebrating World Literacy Day among students, creating awareness on breast cancer in Makoko, celebrating World Food Day with the elderly in Osun, celebrating the World Chocolate day in Ekiti among others.

She said that the leadership role is interesting, educating but most importantly so challenging and tasking.

“Seeing a young person like me leading a good number of Leos in the District is something that is so challenging. It is so interesting and tasking.”

She advised the incoming administration to work in oneness and do more for more, for the immediate environment and community because the government cannot do everything alone.

“As we reflect on our achievements, I urge you all to continue to build upon the momentum and keep the vision burning and the service flag flying high,” she added.

Lion Blessing Umebali, District Leo Programme Chairperson for the 2023/2024 service year in her remarks acknowledged and appreciated the hard work and dedication the Leos have all pulled together, under Adegoke’s leadership making sure that the Leo District 404B2 Nigeria made a positive impact in the community.

Umebali, who is one of the awardees was represented at the event by Lion Vivien Onuagwasi, noted that the District President’s innovative ideas and the hard work of her talented Core officers, and all Leos in the District, have led to the successful implementation of impactful community service activities that have left a lasting impression.

“Leo Olufolake Adegoke, your vision for a brighter future and your willingness to take on challenges head-on have been instrumental in driving successful tenure.

“As you reflect on your tenure, know that your efforts have not gone unnoticed. Your leadership qualities, empathy, and determination have made a significant impact,” she said.
