With eight channels disappearing this month on Sky TV, viewers can expect to experience fresh air with the new changes happening soon. According to The Sun, some streamer-favorite channels are bidding goodbye.

  • Channel 4 Streamlining: Channel 4 is bidding farewell to its standard definition (SD) broadcasts on satellite. Fear not, high-definition (HD) lovers - you can still access their content seamlessly.
  • Music Channel Meltdown: Several beloved music channels have shuttered their doors permanently, including The Box (a 32-year veteran!), Kiss, 4Music, Magic, and Kerrang. These channels have also ceased broadcasting on Virgin Media.
  • Closing the Curtain: Inspiration TV and Dunya News have permanently shut down, leaving their respective spots vacant.

Fresh Tunes on the Horizon

While the music scene might feel quieter, a new melody is about to rise! NOW 90s and 00s arrive on Sky satellite (channel 357) to fill the void for fans of classic hits. This joins the existing lineup of NOW music channels like NOW 70s, 80s, and ROCK.

Shifting Sands: Channel Number Shuffle

With some channels departing and a new arrival, Sky has rearranged its channel lineup. Here's what's changed:

  • NOW Channels Fill the Void: The vacated spots left by The Box and its music channel companions are now occupied by the NOW music channels - currently exclusive to Sky satellite (not available on Sky Glass and Stream yet).
  • Sky Cinema Shuffle: Sky has made its customary tweaks to Sky Cinema, changing the names and themes of some channels.

Channel Number Changes at a Glance

  • Clubland: 364 (old) -> 354 (new) (satellite only)
  • NOW 70s: 361 (old) -> 355 (new) (satellite only)
  • NOW 80s: 362 (old) -> 356 (new) (satellite only)
  • NOW ROCK: 363 (old) -> 358 (new) (satellite only)
  • That's 60s (satellite 365): Rebranded to That's Memories

Sky Glass and Stream Updates

While the NOW music channels are currently exclusive to Sky Satellite, Sky Glass and Stream users will see some theme and name changes for their Sky Cinema channels:

  • Sky 10s: Rebranded to The Hangover
  • Sky Greats: Rebranded to Sky Spies
  • Sky Pride: Rebranded to Sky2024Picks
  • Sky Hits: Rebranded to SkyAxelFoley
  • Sky Cinema Comedy: Rebranded to a new name (details to be announced)

Back in April, latency change arrived on Sky. It's one of the most sought-after features that sports fans worldwide want to see. Aside from that, gamers can also benefit from this upgrade.
