Liverpool considering Wataru Endo future ahead of summer window

Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo is being linked with a move away from the Merseyside club ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to Give Me Sport, Liverpool could cash in on Wataru Endo in the summer transfer window. The Japanese international joined the Merseyside club last summer from VfB Stuttgart, and he has been an important player for Jurgen Klopp.

The experienced midfielder has settled in quickly and established himself as a regular starter for Liverpool. There is no doubt that the former Stuttgart midfielder is a key player for Liverpool now, and the Reds will have to replace him adequately if they decide to cash in on him.

It is no secret that Liverpool need to sign a quality defensive midfielder. They tried to sign players like Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia before they opted to move for the Japanese international. Ideally, Liverpool should look to keep Endo at the club and bring in another defensive midfielder, someone younger and with more potential.

The Japanese midfielder, who is on £50,000-a-week wages, could be the ideal squad player for them next season. Liverpool need more depth in the squad to do well across multiple competitions. Having two defensive midfielders in the squad will be ideal for them. It remains to be seen how the situation develops.

Endo will have no shortage of suitors

Endo is unlikely to have any shortage of suitors if Liverpool are keen on selling him. The experienced midfielder has proven his quality in the Premier League, and he could prove to be a useful acquisition for most clubs.

He is likely to be available for a reasonable price as well given his age and the amount of money Liverpool paid for him. It remains to be seen where he ends up next season. Meanwhile, Liverpool will need to invest in a quality central midfielder as well, especially with Thiago Alcantara likely leaving the club on a free transfer.

Manager Jurgen Klopp has already announced that he will take a sabbatical from management, and it seems that Liverpool are in for a major overhaul during the summer transfer window.
