DC Studios is bringing the Bastich to the big screen! A new rumor suggests that Lobo may be getting his very own solo movie sometime in the near future.

The rumor mill has been teasing Lobo ever since James Gunn and Peter Safran took control over DC Studios. In fact, trades were confirming Jason Momoa was in talks to play the character before Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom even hit theaters. It seemed to be only a matter of time until the character appeared in a movie.

However, it seems the Bastich won’t settle for making a cameo in someone else’s project. A new rumor from MyTimeToShineHello suggests that DC Studios is developing a solo film for Lobo. There’s no mention of if Jason Momoa would be playing the character, though given his passion for the bounty hunter it’s likely he’ll at least be a producer.

DC Studios’ Complicated History With Lobo

This isn’t the first time a Lobo solo film was in development. Long before Jason Momoa was Aquaman and DC Studios even existed, Warner Bros. was interested in adapting their most devious Bastich. The project was first put into motion in 2009 with Guy Ritchie attached. The project was set to be a PG-13 film with a blue-skinned Lobo teaming up with a teenage girl to hunt down fugitives.

Guy Ritchie would eventually drop the project. However, it was announced in 2012 that Rampage director Brad Peyton would helm DC Studios’ new take on the Lobo project. Four years later Argylle screenwriter Jason Fuchs would join to write the film, which would be the last fans ever heard of the doomed movie.
