Manchester United need a world class striker if they are to have any chance of challenging for the title next season and the name of Victor Osimhen is once again in the lime light.

The Red Devils were preparing an offer for the Nigerian international last summer, but he ended up staying with Napoli.

As per reports in Italy, Man Utd have proposed a shock swap deal involving Rasmus Hojlund to sign £84.9million-rated Osimhen.

According to La Repubblica, the Old Trafford club offer the Danish center forward in order to lure the African superstar from the Naples side.

As per the news source, United are also looking to land Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna and have had direct contact with the Dutch forward’s agent.

Osimhen is one of the best out and out striker’s in the continent. In the 2022-23 campaign, he was the top scorer in the Serie A as Napoli went on to win the Scudetto after more than three decades.

Last season, he missed games due to injury and national duty, started 22 league fixtures and found the net 15 times.

On the other hand, United paid a fee of around £72million to sign Hojlund from Atalanta and he only scored 10 goals in 25 Premier League starts in his debut season in England.

As per a recent report published by Corriere dello Sport, Man Utd are interested in Osimhen, who has a release clause of 130 million euros in his contract.

However, CdS claim, club president, Aurelio de Laurentiis, can offer a discount, but the asking fee will not go below 100 million euros i.e £84.9million.
