LAGOS – The Kogi State Government through the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has visited flood victims camps, in an effort to keep the flood victims camps safe and ready for use during impending floods.

The Executive Secretary, Alh Mouktar Atimah, in an effort to effectively navigate the contours of purposeful leadership, has taken proactive steps again to embark on inspection of camps and their facilities.

The Public Relations Officer (PRO), SEMA, Salau Ibrahim in a press statement on Sunday noted that the inspection tour has helped to ascertain the conditions and level of damages on the facilities.

According to Ibrahim, the comprehensive report on the camp inspections tour will be transmitted to the State Government through the Office of Deputy Governor Comrade Joel Oyobo, who is also the Board Chairman SEMA for further action.

He stated that SEMA had begun sensitisation as well on the need to relocate to safer areas to avoid last minute rush.

“As part of his innovative strategy for effective handling of the NIMET’s 2024 flood predictions, he said that SEMA will build more synergy and collaboration with the Ministry of Education and other relevant Agencies to ensure that the camping arrangement should not disrupt students: learning.

“This activity underscores the commitment of the Kogi State Government to alleviate the plight of the citizenry, especially in moments of crises and natural disasters,” Ibrahim stated.
