Imo State Police Command has confirmed the killing of three vigilantes by yet to be identified gunmen at Umuaka community in Njaba local government area on Sunday evening.

The Commissioner of police Aboki Danjuma who visited the scene of the unfortunate incident for on the spot assessment Monday morning, condemned the attack and gruesome murder of the vigilante personnel.

The tragic incident happened while the vigilante personnel were on routine crime prevention patrol before they were attacked by their assailants and a passerby was also hit by stray bullet.

The Commissioner of police said a tactical squad has been deployed to hunt down the hoodlums responsible for the dastardly act.
