Harry Kane has now been credited with 11 goal involvements in the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League (UCL). This has made him the English player with the highest number of direct goal contributions in a single UCL campaign as per Squawka. How did the Bayern Munich star achieve this feat?

Harry Kane

The former Tottenham striker began the campaign with a bang as he set up one goal and netted for the Bavarians in their opening game of the tournament. In fact, nobody made more than his 4 attempts in the encounter. The 30-year-old goal poacher was involved in two more goals when Bayern Munich visited Galatasaray on match day 3 of the competition. It should be noted that Kane scored twice when the Turkish side came visiting in the next game.

The 3-time Premier League golden boot winner ended the group stage with an assist against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Meanwhile, he created the joint highest number of chances in the clash. Kane had another brace to his name in the second leg of the round of 16 to give Bayern Munich a 3-0 over Lazio at the Allianz Arena. His next two strikes came in the first legs of the quarter-finals and semi-finals. He netted once each against Arsenal and Real Madrid in both games. Coincidentally, the two matches ended in 2-2 draws.

Meanwhile, the English players that held the record prior to this season were David Beckham and Steven Gerrard. The former was involved in 10 goals each in the 1998/99 and 2001/02 while the latter had same number of contributions in the 2007/08 season.
