Ex-Arsenal and Man City star backs Guirassy over Osimhen, Lookman for CAF Player of the Year

Former Arsenal and Manchester City star Emmanuel Adebayor has thrown his weight behind Serhou Guirassy to win the CAF Player of the Year award, snubbing favorite Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, according to Soccernet.

Adebayor, who had a illustrious career in Europe, believes Guirassy's impressive season with VfB Stuttgart deserves recognition. Guirassy netted 28 goals in the Bundesliga, finishing just behind Harry Kane in the Golden Boot race.

"Guirassy had an extraordinary season, and his goals helped Stuttgart secure a surprise second-place finish," Adebayor said in an interview with Afrik-Foot. "He deserves to win the award, especially since Salah has not scored as much, and Osimhen did not have the same season as the year he won the title."

While Osimhen and Lookman have also had impressive seasons, Adebayor believes Guirassy's achievements stand out. The Togolese international's endorsement has added weight to Guirassy's candidacy, making the race for the CAF Player of the Year award even more intriguing.
