The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Okezie Kalu has reacted after he received a delegation from the Qingdao Municipal Council, China.
The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Okezie Kalu stated on his verified Facebook page on Monday; "Strengthening bilateral ties and compliance to our labour laws. Today, on behalf of the People’s House, I received the delegation from the Qingdao Municipal Council, China, led by Mr. Wang Luming, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Qingdao Municipal People’s Congress, on a courtesy visit to the National Assembly."
He added; "We discussed various avenues of collaborating with the Nigerian government in technology, vocational education, talent training, trade, and investment for the economic growth and development of both nations."
He noted; "I assured the delegation of our eagerness as a parliament to strengthen our partnership with business- and investment-friendly legislative frameworks as part of the 8-point agenda of the 10th House. I also encouraged Chinese investors and other foreign companies to adhere to Nigerian labor laws, policies, and international best practices as they conduct business across the country."
The federal lawmaker stated further; "I commend the Ndigboamaka Progressives Market Association for their crucial role in this meeting. The commitment of the House to providing a conducive legislative environment that supports joint initiatives and mutual growth stands unwavering."
