Dr. Akintayo Stephen, a Nigerian author and entrepreneur, has highlighted an interesting aspect of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that many people may not know about
In an interview with Seun Okinbaloye on Mic On Podcast, Stephen said many people don't know that the UAE operates under Sharia law, which is based on Islamic principles. He said despite this, the UAE is a diverse and inclusive country where people of different faiths coexist peacefully
Stephen shared his personal experience of visiting a Roman Catholic church in the UAE, where he saw four church services take place. He said this demonstrates the religious freedom and tolerance present in the UAE, where Christians and people of other faiths are free to practice their religion openly
In Stephen's words: "Most people don't know UAE operate Sharia law but see what is happening, Christians are there. Infact, there was a day I went to a Roman Catholic church there and the place was busy, they were doing four services. I had never seen Catholic Church that does four services in UAE".
