It is Not Appropriate to Refer to Either Me or Any of My Colleagues as Former Chairman —Chidi Lloyd

In an interview with Arise TV, Chidi Lloyd, the chairman of the Emohua Local Government Area in Rivers State, made it clear that calling him or his colleagues "former chairmen" is inaccurate.

He claimed that the governor had overreached himself and that it was improper to use such language given the ongoing legal proceedings. Lloyd emphasised that calling someone a "former chairman" would be impolite and premature, and that judgements influencing cases before the law court shouldn't be made. He advised the populace to hold off on taking any more action until after the court's ruling.

"With due respect, the governor has acted ultra vires his powers, so when that happens, you don't take decisions or make decisions that will affect a matter that is before the law court," he said. As a result, referring to me or any of my colleagues as previous chairman is inappropriate.
