However, on this occasion, the announcement of Tinubu's return on Wednesday was made only through a news flash by the state-owned NTA, without any visual evidence, leading to reactions on social media platforms.
Despite the absence of official images, a video supposedly welcoming Tinubu back to the country circulated online, only to be debunked as footage from a previous event in February.
The lack of visual confirmation regarding Tinubu's return prompted a wave of doubt and demands from Nigerians for transparency, with many expressing disappointment at the absence of customary welcoming ceremonies and questioning the authenticity of the announcement.
