Edo Governorship Race: APC Candidate Okpebholo Vows to Correct Governor Obaseki's ‘Wrongs’

According to a report by DAILY POST, the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign council has declared that its candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, will right the "wrongs" of the outgoing Godwin Obaseki-led administration if elected.

Kassim Afegbua, the media consultant to the APC campaign council, made this assertion on Sunday in Benin City, urging the people of the state to reject the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Asue Ighodalo.

Afegbua outlined five critical areas that Okpebholo would focus on, should he emerge victorious in the September 21 election.

These include agriculture, health, education, human capital development, and environmental protection and safety and security architecture.

"A vote for Senator Monday Okpebholo would put an end to capital flights, which have been synonymous with the PDP-led administration in the state," Afegbua declared.

"Indigenous contractors have been strangulated under Obaseki's administration. Briefcase contractors are imported into the state to undertake jobs instead of encouraging our businesses."

The APC campaign council's media consultant praised Okpebholo as a man known to the people, citing his victory in the 2023 senatorial election in his district, where he defeated an incumbent PDP senator.

Afegbua was particularly critical of the PDP governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo, whom he described as an "imported" and a "stooge of Obaseki."

He warned that Ighodalo would continue with the "obnoxious policies" of the outgoing governor if elected.
