Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has unleashed a scathing critique against Kenya Kwanza leaders, accusing them of arrogance and disrespect towards both the citizens and President William Ruto. Speaking at a Sunday service in PEFA Church Kiamariga, Nyeri County, Gachagua condemned these leaders for their haughty demeanor, which he claims undermines the presidency and the government.

"Others have become arrogant, and when they open their mouths, people get angry. Those people are the ones who make it hard for the president. They make it hard for the government. They are very proud," Gachagua stated, addressing the congregation.

He further criticized their conduct, alleging that these leaders have not only feasted to their satisfaction but also belittle those less fortunate. "They have eaten their fill and then vomiting on people who have eaten nothing. Give them a little to eat before vomiting on them," he remarked, emphasizing the disconnect between the leaders and the people they serve.

This rebuke comes in the wake of a contentious moment during the funeral of politician Maina Wanjigi, where Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria faced intense backlash from the crowd, chanting "Ruto must go." Kuria's attempt to address the gathering was cut short, highlighting growing discontent and political tensions within the region.

Gachagua's strong words also extended to what he perceives as political schemes within the government, particularly concerning decisions like the alleged reopening of bars selling illicit brews without proper authorization. He warned against undermining the presidency through such actions, urging a cessation of these divisive strategies.

As political temperatures rise, Gachagua's remarks underscore a widening rift among leaders, reflecting the charged atmosphere ahead of Kenya's political landscape.
