At the July 2024 Leadership Empowerment Summit held at LFC Canaanland, Bishop David Oyedepo delivered a powerful message urging members to shift their focus from seeking rewards from the Church to serving Christ wholeheartedly.
Bishop Oyedepo emphasized, "The Church can't reward you, it's Christ that can. Carry the mentality of, "I'm serving Christ" in all your ways. It will affect the quality of your engagement and the steadfastness of your involvement."
He read from Ecclesiastes 5:6 and Proverbs 18:21 to underscore the importance of tapping into the prophetic virtues within the Commission for personal growth and spiritual fulfillment.
Reflecting on his decades-long journey, he shared, "I have been here for 48 years, and my focus has always been on the integrity and virtues imparted through this Commission."
Addressing misconceptions about spiritual commitment, Bishop Oyedepo challenged listeners to see beyond superficial engagements. "Spiritual membership is not about casual attendance or skepticism," he affirmed. "It's about embracing the transformative grace available and manifesting it in our lives."
He reminded every worker within the Commission of their ultimate service to Christ, emphasizing that true fulfillment comes from aligning with His purpose. "You are serving Christ, not the Church," he declared, urging a mindset shift towards deepening personal engagement and steadfast commitment.
In closing, Bishop Oyedepo called upon attendees to embrace the grace of transformation and to manifest the winning virtues of Christ in their daily lives. "Let your life be a testament to the transformative power of Christ," he exhorted, encouraging a renewal of commitment and spiritual depth among the congregation.
