In a recent article from DAILY POST, Nigerian reggae Gospel artist Buchi Atuonwu shared a gripping tale of divine intervention that spared him from a near execution by firing squad.

During a candid interview with Channels TV, Buchi recounted the terrifying journey that brought him to the edge of death. Once a nightclub DJ and university lecturer caught up in campus confraternity, substance abuse, and youth violence, his life was marred by a series of vices and dangerous decisions.

Despite his turbulent past, Buchi found comfort and redemption through his music, using his experiences to craft a message of hope and transformation. Influenced by his troubled background and a fervent desire for change, his musical journey became a potent outlet for self-expression and spiritual growth.

Reflecting on the profound impact of his past, Buchi explored themes such as gun-running and violence with unfiltered authenticity in his music. His recent book, "My Weed And I," delves into the devastating effects of substance abuse, shedding light on its widespread impact on individuals and communities.

Yet, amidst the darkness that once consumed him, Buchi experienced a miraculous intervention that defied all odds. Recalling the pivotal moment when he and others faced execution, with the grim prospect of a firing squad before them, Buchi made a desperate plea to a God he barely knew.( Photo credit : Channels Television Verified Facebook Page )

In his own words: “At a point in my life, we were lined up for execution. The people who were to execute us were already kneeling before us ready to fire. I called out to a God that I did know, ‘If you save me, I will serve you.’ Since we don’t have all the time, let me just say that he saved me from that firing squad. And I devoted my life to serving him.”
