Two persons rushed to hospital as driver of mini truck loses brake, rams into two cars in Lagos

Two persons were said to have been rushed to a hospital after the driver of a mini truck lost control of his vehicle due to brake failure and rammed into two cars in Lagos on Monday, July 1, 2024.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), which announced the accident on its X handle, said it occurred around 10:20 a.m. on Monday at Adeniji Adele inward Sura on the Lagos Island area of the state.

According to LASTMA, the driver of the minibus, who was on top speed, suddenly lost control after the brake of the vehicle failed in motion, and this made him to ram into two Mazda cars in front of him.

As a result of the impact of the accident, two persons were said to have sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention by officials of LASTMA and those of the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS).

The accident was said to have caused gridlock on the stretch of the road, but officials of LASTMA and policeman were on ground to control the traffic situation.

A towing vehicle was also seen in a video posted by LASTMA being used to remove the mini truck while the two Mazda cars had been taken away from the scene of the accident to the nearby police station.

LASTMA wrote: "A multiple accident occurred at Adeniji Adele inward Sura which involved three vehicles (a mini truck and two Mazda cars). The mini truck had a brake failure and rammed through other two cars."
