Kingsley Moghalu, who served as the deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria in the past, has responded to criticism that he received for urging Nigerians to back President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to the post that he published on his official X handle on Monday, he stated that he is not shocked by the attacks that he has been receiving because he has backed the position that Nigerians should wish for the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all of the governors.

Moghalu stated that the outcome of elections ought to be a subject that is decided by the electoral process and the courts after the elections have been held.

Kingsley Moghalu wrote on his page;

"I am not surprised at criticism from some quarters after I supported the view that we should hope for the success of governors and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Let me make myself clear. What happens with elections should be a matter for the electoral process and the courts afterwards. In between, Nigeria must be governed. It is in the interest of Nigeria’s 200 million citizens that that governance produce some results, regardless of who is in charge".
